WHITEY // A Short Film

WHITEY takes the viewer into the world of “the embodied imagination” in search of the vital, the real and an ethical compass. Filmed in the untamable Chihuahauan desert, efficacy in art making is brought into the farcical when contemporary rituals to decolonize the body/mind are brought into direct tension with colonization of space, time, place, culture (and a natural world that won’t cooperate). Nothing is too sacred and whiteness is no match for the filmmaker’s allegiance to egalitarianism and radicalism. She employs hubris, humor, dance and philosophical politics to engage the viewer regarding our largest of priorities- correcting ecocide and countering systems of control.
